Part of the first series of tolar banknotes issued by the Bank of Slovenia in 1992, the 20 Slovenian tolarjev banknote was designed by Miljenko Licul and Zvone Kosovelj. Its front side contains topographic maps, a drafting compass, and a portrait of Janez Vajkard Valvasor, the pioneer of karst studies and Slovenian historiography. The backside features more topographic maps and the angels from Valvasors book The Glory of the Duchy of Carniola.
