The Iceland 50 Kronur Banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Iceland between 1981 and 1986. The obverse of this brown banknote features the Lutheran Bishop of Holar Gudbrandur Porlaksson wearing robes and holding the first Icelandic bible. The reverse depicts a printer pulling a sheet from the press while another printer inking the plates. It also shows a background of movable type.
The note contains a solid security thread and bears a watermark that reveals Jon Sigurosson. It is 135 x 70 mm in size and is signed by Davio Olafsson and Guomundur.
